Bowen, a 25-year veteran in music ministry, began his career in 1982 when he joined The MidSouth Boys Quartet as lead vocalist. During the mid-’80s the group changed to a Christian country trio and garnered much success, including Bowen’s being nominated for Lead Singer of the Year by the Singing News Fan Awards.
He continued to sing with the award-winning trio until 1997, when he returned to the ministry as a solo performer and with the band Heritage Road.
