Top rising stars in women’s golf to compete for $100,000 total purse in
El Dorado, Arkansas; the only Symetra Tour stop in the four state region of

Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma

Murphy USA is excited to once again bring the Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, to southern Arkansas with its Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout presented by PepsiCo. The event will be held at Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas from September 30 through October 2.

This will be the second time that Murphy USA and the El Dorado community will host the 54-hole stroke play format event. First-round play will begin on Friday, September 30 with the final round scheduled for Sunday, October 2. Numerous events will be occurring throughout the week leading into the tournament, including Pro-Am scrambles on Wednesday and Thursday where Symetra Tour professionals will compete alongside various sponsors and guests.

New to this year’s lineup of festivities will be a Junior Clinic. The clinic will be held at Mystic Creek Golf Club and is scheduled for Sunday, September 25 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., featuring instruction from Symetra Tour members and PGA teaching professionals. Children ages six to eighteen are invited to participate free of charge. Registration will be at Mystic Creek from 1:15 - 1:45 p.m. on September 25 prior to the beginning of the clinic.

The 120 player field, comprised of the top aspiring women’s professional golfers from around the world, will compete for a $100,000 total purse. The winner will earn $15,000 and take a significant step towards earning an LPGA Tour card for the 2017 season. The top-10 players on the year-end Volvik Race for the Card money list receive their full-time LPGA Tour cards for the following season. Since 1999, 117 Symetra Tour players have graduated to the LPGA.

“The Murphy USA team and our friends at PepsiCo, as well as our other generous sponsors, are excited to once again partner to bring this LPGA Symetra Tour event to the state of Arkansas,” said Murphy USA CEO, Andrew Clyde. “The Symetra Tour is an important opportunity for these impressive golfers to chase their dream, on the road to the LPGA. We believe this event provides another way to highlight the many charms of our hometown, El Dorado, as well as, honor the many women that work at Murphy USA.”

First Financial Bank has again generously agreed to be the General Admission Sponsor, providing free admission to the community all three days of the tournament.

Listed by Golf Digest as one of the best new golf courses in 2013, Mystic Creek Golf Club was designed by acclaimed golf architect Ken Dye. The par-72 course with its Champion Bermuda greens and Celebration Bermuda fairways is considered challenging. “After playing last year on the LPGA, I thought that Mystic Creek could have easily held an LPGA event as hard as the golf course is. It’s definitely one of the top courses that we play on the Symetra Tour, and I’m really excited to see how it challenges the players this year,” said 2015 tournament winner Jackie Stoelting, who will be returning to defend her title.

The event will benefit HOPE Landing whose mission is to bring hope and purpose to the lives of children with disabilities by helping them achieve their potential. A non-profit charitable corporation, it is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care, regardless of the families’ ability to pay. Located on a beautiful 80-acre ranch east of El Dorado, HOPE Landing serves children, from birth to age 21, with physical or cognitive disabilities that limit or interfere with healthy development and independent function in daily life.

“Hope Landing is an outstanding organization that supports the families in our community. They have achieved a wonderful reputation for their high-quality services and top-notch facilities. We are so pleased to spotlight Hope Landing during this year’s tournament,” explained Murphy USA CEO, Andrew Clyde.
