After Texarkana, Ark., inmate Michael Sabbie was found dead in his Bi-State jail cell Wednesday at 6:30 a.m., local authorities have decided to call in the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Little Rock to take over the case.

A press release issued by the Texarkana, Ark., Police Department stated:

A review of the initial death investigation by Texarkana Police Department Detectives warrants an outside investigation.

Chief Robert H. Harrison contacted the Little Rock Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation late Thursday afternoon and asked them to take over the death investigation of inmate Michael Sabbie, who was in custody of LaSalle Corrections Corporation.
