Want to say thanks to the hard-working crew at Firehouse Subs on Kennedy Lane for bringing the air staff some great food. If you haven't tried or been to Firehouse Subs I urge you to go check out some menu items. My favorites so far from Firehouse Subs is the Smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket sandwich and the Meatball Sub they absolutely melt in your mouth. This time around I tried their Steak & Cheese sandwich because I'm pretty particular when it comes to a good steak & cheese. I have to tell you I wasn't dissapointed!

One of the cool things they have in the store is the drink machine where you can mix up several combinations of flavor to add to your soda.

Let me tell you a little history about Firehouse Subs, they were  founded by former firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen. And I love their guarantee of “Our Way Beats Their Way, if You Don’t Agree it’s Free.”  What I like about Firehouse Subs is they offer bigger portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed to make the flavors burst, then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll. The restaurants reflect the authentic firefighter heritage of the founding family’s 200 years of firefighting service.

Here's what the rest of our staff had to say:

I love the Club on a Sub sandwich! The bread is always soft and the ingredients are always fresh...Firehouse Subs gives back to the community and that is important, especially when it comes to our local firefighters who work very hard for our cities." --Mitzi Dowd, Director of Sales

"The meatball sub is sweet and spicy, bringing just the right amount of heat. So good!" --Jathan Fink, Digital Managing Editor

"I'm 'trying' to eat healthy so I ordered the Chef's Salad. Perfect! Big and fresh! Loaded with vegetables...cucumbers, green bell peppers, onion, tomato, provolone cheese, a hard boiled egg...and not just a little turkey...a ton of turkey meat!" --Lisa Lindsey, 'Scott & Lisa in the Morning'

"It was very tasty!" --Scott Mills, 'Scott & Lisa in the Morning'

"I had the Hook 'N Ladder sandwich. Smoked turkey, Virginia ham, melted Monterrey jack cheese. Great flavor...a wonderful meal." -- John Williams, News Director

Be sure and check them out on Facebook and then read our food critic's report and see why he selected Firehouse Subs as one of Texarkana's Good Eats destinations.
