Tyler Hubbard, one half of country duo Florida Georgia Line, got tatted up in honor of his father Roy, who died in a helicopter crash in 2007, shortly before the singer moved to Nashville.

The long-haired country star is now proudly displaying a large portrait of his dad's face on his forearm. He shared the tattoo on Instagram Tuesday (March 11), prompting lots of excited comments from fans. It's a tattoo full of detail, looking almost like a photograph with its clarity and color.

Hubbard didn't trust just anyone to ink his arm -- he turned to Kat Von D, former star of the TLC television show 'L.A. Ink,' for the honor. The Instagram caption reads, "Thanks @thekatvond for an awesome day and an amazing tat that makes me remember the best man I've ever known. #freshink #portrait"

This isn't the first time the 'This Is How We Roll' singer has been inked. He has several, including one that says 'Play Hard' on his left bicep. Hubbard seems to be recovered (or at least standing) after a dirt bike mishap led to a back injury that landed him in the hospital in February. The duo will spend the weekend in Orange Beach, Ala. on the Night Train Tour with Jason Aldean.
