Seven year old Jacob Miller of Phillipsburg, NJ decided that, instead of presents for his birthday this year, he'd rather receive items to send to American troops serving overseas.

After discussing the matter with his parents, he decided to ask all of his friends attending his birthday party to bring personal care items for the troops. His army themed birthday invitation included a list of all of the items needed.

"They’re (troops) going to get some things they really need," said Jacob, a first-grader at Freeman Elementary School and the oldest of four children in the Miller family. "And they help protect us."

Here's a web site with all sorts of ways you can help support our troops.

Here's another one where you can get names of soldiers to write and send things to.
