A former Correctional Officer has been arrested in Texarkana on a charge of Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.

The Bowie County Sheriff's Office says that 24 year old Culleon E. Hubbard of Hooks, Texas is facing the charge for allegedly introducing tobacco and marijuana in the Bowie County Annex Jail.

Authorities say on October 29 around 5:20PM Hubbard was returning from work at the jail from taking a break. He was searched upon his return to work which is standard procedure.

It was during this search that officers allegedly found cigarettes in his sock. A visitor allegedly saw the suspected former officer discard a plastic roll, when he was told to remove his shoes. Authorities allege the roll contained cigarettes, marijuana and a lighter.

The items were recovered and the officer was terminated from his position. An arrest warrant was issued and he turned himself in at the Bi-State Building and his bond set at $30,000.
