With Veterans Day having just passed, we continue to think about and thank our men and women in the military for their service to this country. Many of them come home different people with different challenges and little help. It's devastating. But one former NFL player is giving them the help they need in a way he knows best...

Fitness.

David Vobora, according to ESPN, was drafted by the Rams as the final pick of the 2008 draft, barely making it into the league. In 2011 he sustained a shoulder injury and head trauma. He turned to drugs and his life spiraled out of control. After attending rehab, he came out with a purpose.

He saw a need to empower those who deal with problems like he did, but also for our veterans. He founded the Adaptive Training Foundation that works with adaptive athletes including amputees, paraplegics, quadriplegics and the physically impaired. He trains them in nine-week sessions all designed to empower them, restore their confidence and redefine their capabilities.

It's an interesting story. The last man drafted to the NFL is known as "Mr. Irrelevant." Well, in this case, he went from Mr. Irrelevant to the most important person in some of these people's lives. It's beautiful.
