In case you haven't heard "King George" announced today that he is retiring - no, not for good just from touring. Thankfully, George will continue his recording career. In a live stream via Facebook, George let his fans know he will have one last tour called "The Cowboy Rides Away."

The tour will have at least 40 dates and maybe more.  the King of Country said he thought that 60 was a good age to stop touring. At least we have a chance to catch the King on tour, one last time.

I can remember seeing George Strait several times during my lifetime and the one thing I can remember is how he always carried himself with class and dignity while on stage performing. George never went for the smoke, lights and action that so many stars have in their shows today. It was just George in front of a microphone singing with his guitar and his music that has made him a country music legend.

In fact, I think the only time I seen George Strait walk out on stage in smoke was when he played a character named Dusty in the movie "Pure Country."

All I can say is if you've never seen George Strait live in concert, make sure you don't miss him one last  time on his concert tour.

Country music has certainly changed over the years but I can't imagine what the format would be like without him. A singer from Texas who has produced 59 No. 1 hits and looking forward to many more hits in the future with this old troubadour.

George may be ready to slow down but he's not done yet. Go George!
