Kicker 102.5 is proud to present the Summer Concert Series featuring Frank Foster live Shooters Friday, July 25. Yesterday (7/14) just released a new music video "Cut Off Jeans" from his upcoming album “Rhythm and Whiskey.” The video will remind you of the time you were a young boy swimming in the river with friends with not a care in the world but just having fun.

For those who might not know who Frank Foster is, he was born and raised in north Louisiana about halfway between Haynesville and Summerfield in a little place called cypress bottom. He began working in the Gulf of Mexico on an oil rig, but his love for music kept calling him. His father turned him on to Hank Williams when he was very young. As he grew a little older, his taste in music expanded through several genres, but outlaw country and southern rock became his favorites – especially when he was given his first Hank Williams, Jr. album. Frank calls him his greatest musical influence, along with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Earle, Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers, and Black Crowes.

Frank began playing guitar during his junior year of college, and experience that he says “changed his life.” Shortly after, he wrote his first song and has been writing and singing ever since. Foster has released three independent albums: Rowdy Reputation in 2011, Red Wings and Six Strings in 2012 and Southern Soul in 2013. Jonathan Widran of AllMusic gave Red Wings and Six Strings four stars out of five, writing that “Foster’s ability to connect lies in the raw emotional authenticity of his storytelling.

"Southern Soul" sold 6,000 copies in its first week of release, debuting at number 11 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number 67 on the Billboard 200. His 2014 “Southern Soul Tour” is on it’s way to being one of the largest independent tours of the year. On July 3, 2014, Frank announced the launch of his own record label, LONE CHIEF RECORDS.

I've always been a fan of Frank Foster and I think once you see him LIVE you will become a fan too. He is an incredible musician with a sound that represents Today's New Country but with a little attitude and rowdiness. Let me just say if you like Hank Williams Jr. you're going to love Frank Foster.
