Does anyone remember Andrew Gordon aka Capt.Kosher from Season 12 of Big Brother? He was on the same season that Texarkana native Kathy Hillis was on. Gordon was recently in Texarkana on a personal tour called 50 states by 50.

The Miami, FL., Podiatrist Dr. Gordon will be turning the big 5-0 soon and he decided he wanted to visit 50 states (one state a month) by his birthday. Eventually Gordon hopes to write a book about his journey across America. A book he said, that would be filled about the characters and personalities he met in each town he visited. Every town or city has a blueprint of what makes their town special, whether it be the culture, arts, food, or landmarks and Gordon is hoping on capturing all of that in his book.

Andrew Gordon first got national recognition by appearing on the CBS-TV reality show Big Brother in season 12, however he was voted off after only three weeks. The strategy he went on the show with eventually backfired on him and he said, "If I could have planned it a little differently, I may have lasted a little longer, he laughs." However, the good news is he did make a few good friends from the show, including castmate Kathy Hillis. So when he made the decision to tour all 50 states he put Texarkana on the map because it resides in two states and Kathy lived here.

So, Tuesday night I was invited to tag along on a ghost tour in downtown Texarkana. Andrew Converse was our tour guide from Haunted Texarkana Ghost Walk, he was amazing, very informative about Texarkana history giving us lots of information on the ghostly haunts and sightings in downtown. We learned a bunch in the 90-minute tour, I liked the stories about several well known celebrities that still are suppose to haunt the alley behind the Municipal Auditorium.

One of those celebrities was actress Mae West as Converse tells the story in this video.

I highly recommend you take the tour just make sure to bring a flashlight. They supply you with some ghost hunting equipment too if you like, so we all chose the EMF meter. Unfortunately, we didn't capture anything out of the ordinary that night except Andrew walking to close to Kathy.

Andrew's journey didn't stop there though, he got to take that world famous photo with Kathy in front of the post office. He also had the opportunity to eat at Hopkins Ice House and Joe's Pizza downtown while visiting. Gordon had just enough time to take a short trip to Hope, Arkansas to see President Bill Clinton's Birthplace home, which I'm sure will make it into the book.

Here are a few photos from a Ghostly downtown. See if you can spot any ghostly apparitions.
