Going “Cuckoo” For Rowling

What do Louisa May Alcott, The Brontë Sisters and J.K. Rowling all have in common? And no, it’s not that they are all women. Come on y’all, you can do better than that.  All of these famous ladies have written under a male pseudonym, and J.K. Rowling is the latest to join the ranks.

Now let’s all have a collective squeal of excitement because no matter what name Rowling chooses to write under, you know whatever she has written is going to be good.

I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve read all of the Harry Potter novels and at a very young age. I’ll also admit I have read them all at least three (maybe four) times. They are just that good. And yes, I knew about them/read them way before Harry Potter was ever popular. Because I’m cool like that.

Despite the fact that when the last book and movie came out I felt like it was the end of an era, now I have hope because one of my favorite authors is back in the game. Going by the name Robert Galbraith no less.

Rowling has revealed herself as the actual author of “The Cuckoo’s Calling”. The book is a riveting story of a war veteran, Cormoran Strike, who is a complete down-on-his-luck private investigator. Strike is asked to take on a case about a famous model and it’s history from there. He learns to navigate the glamorous social circles he always wished to be a part of while determining if the model’s death was really a suicide.

I personally don’t care what name she publishes under, Rowling will always be one of the greats to me. So this means that now I know she wrote this book I’m going to march myself down to the nearest book store to purchase what I know will be an amazing read. And maybe if I’m lucky, Harry Potter references will be hidden all in this new novel.

A girl can dream right?
