It's the Hope Watermelon Festival this weekend. Who doesn't love watermelon and who doesn't love watermelon grown in Hope, AR?

Here's the great thing about the event tomorrow, according to a press release:

Governor Asa Hutchinson will participate in the “Politically Correct” Watermelon Eating Contest at the 41st Annual Hope Watermelon Festival on Saturday, August 12 at 11:30 a.m.  The contest, sponsored by the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, will take place at the BancorpSouth stage at Hope Fair Park.

There will be tons of activities going on throughout the day and a concert at Hempstead Hall with Joe Diffie tomorrow night.

You can take a look at the Hope Watermelon Festival Schedule or visit the Hope Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
