A ground breaking ceremony was held today in Texarkana, Arkansas for the future Holiday Springs Water Park. The new park will be built adjacent to the Hotel/Convention Center which is currently under construction north of Interstate 30 and east of Stateline Avenue in Texarkana at the Crossroads Business Park.

The water park which is being put in by local Dr. Hiren Patel will feature 10 slides, five amusement rides, a kids pool, and adults lagoon, a wave pool, splash pads, an outdoor water theater and a lazy river.

One of the features will be the Cliffhanger described as an extreme slide with a high energy twist. Its an enclosed body slide that riders enter through a launch capsule on a 60 foot high deck. A trap door below opens to start a vertical drop into the looping transparent slide for 265 feet.

The hope is to add even more slides and rides  and keep expanding the park to make it the largest water park in the state of Arkansas. The park is scheduled to open around Memorial Day next year. There will be a website which will be up around the first of the year and season tickets will begin to be sold around that time.
