Punxsutawney Phil has come out of his burrow to make his annual weather prediction. This year, Phil's handlers say he did indeed see his shadow, which they say means we will see basically six more weeks of winter, before Spring starts in mid March.

The annual event is held in Punxutawney, Pennsylvania at Gobbler's Knob. Of course Bill Murray starred in the infamous movie "Groundhog Day". Most years, Phil does see his shadow and we do have six more weeks of winter weather.

He may be right, the forecast for our area later this week calls for cold temperatures and a chance of wintry precipitation for Thursday through Saturday. Stay Tuned.
