Ghosts, goblins and things that go bump in the night will be center stage in Marshall, Texas when the Afterlife Research Team and Para Encounters Network bring their paranormal services to Marshall while hosting Haunted Holidays, "Ghosts of the Past, Present and Future" on November 9.There are plenty of legends of haunted houses and buildings around the East Texas town, but paranormal investigator Mike McCaskill says many of Marshall's historic buildings and homes have never been investigated.

"We chose to bring our investigation to Marshall because of the towns overall appeal. There are so many paranormal television shows and teams that go out and launch big investigations in area towns, but as far we know, we are the only team that has ever investigated in Marshall," McCaskill said.

Seasoned paranormal investigators will enjoy two investigations in known ghost haunting locations, as well as a cemetery walk at dusk. McKaskill says he's hopeful skeptics will also attend the event. He says they will definitely have fun, and may leave believers.

"Skeptics are skeptics for a reason; they probably have never experienced a ghost. Join us for the day and we'll see how long that skepticism lasts," says McCaskill. "We want people to know that the paranormal investigation isn't just scary things and haunting. That's not what it's all about. We’re helping people solve problems.”

Lyle Blackburn, author of The Beast of Boggy Creek, will speak on a topic of interest to many in the region...Sasquatch. Commonly called Big Foot in East Texas, sightings of this giant creature are not uncommon, with one sighting reported near Marshall just this past summer. An author, crypto zoologist and musician, Blackburn investigates legends, lore, and sighting reports of "real-life monsters."

In addition to Blackburn, speakers for the event include Mitchell Whittington, Jefferson resident and owner of The Grove, a well known haunted Bed and Breakfast. Dr. Rita Louise, host of Just Energy Radio and the founder of the Institute of Applied Energetics will appear; as well as Anthony Zepeda, host of "Bridging the Gap: Reality and Beyond." Several paranormal authors will also be guest speakers. Rounding out the day will be vendor booths, allowing attendees to shop for everyday, and out of the ordinary items.

Haunted Holidays, "Ghosts of the Past, Present and Future” will be held at the Marshall Visual Arts Center, located at 208 E. Burleson St, in downtown Marshall.
