Have you ever received a gift from someone and pretended you liked it when you really didn't? Believe it or not this happens more often than you think.

According to a recent survey conducted by Businesswire 73 percent of Americans fake liking their present and only one out of 10 people will admit they don't like it at all. Seems kind of cruel to act like this when someone just gave you something from the heart. Nevertheless, it only takes 5 seconds for a person to figure out don't like it and mothers are more likely than fathers to give someone a bad present.

I recall one time that someone gave me a bag of bird seed and I didn't even have a  bird. And in that moment the only thing I wanted to do was give them the bird. But instead I smiled and said "Thank You."

The most shocking result is the fact that your significant other is the worst at giving you a bad gift. You would think just the opposite when they should know your likes and dislikes. What's even worse is that 20 percent of couples have gotten into an argument over the present and 11 percent have almost broken up over it.

Only 37 percent have been able to tell if the person they gave the gift to was disappointed. So if you get a over extended hug from the person you gave the gift to guess what? That's a sure sign they most likely didn't like it and are trying to not let you see their true reaction. I'm not sure if I believe that or not. You can come up with your own conclusion.

So have you ever got a present you didn't like? What was the strangest gift you ever received for Christmas?
