Christus St. Michael Health System will be awarding "Health and Wellness" grants totaling $30,000 to 24 area Texas schools at a luncheon at CSM on June 26.

Texas-side schools slated to receive the grants include: Bloomburg, Clarksville, Malta, McLeod, Mt. Vernon, Simms, Hooks, Maud, Linden-Kildare, Texarkana, Redwater, Red Lick, Queen City, Avery, Atlanta, Liberty-Eylau, Hughes Springs, New Boston, Daingerfield, Pleasant Grove, DeKalb, Jefferson, Pittsburg and Hubbard.

The check presentations will be a special luncheon at the Christus St. Michael North Conference Center located at 2600 St. Michael Drive in Texarkana on June 26 at noon.

Funding for this program provided by Christus St. Michael Health System in conjunction with Genesis PrimeCare, the Mobile Pediatric Asthma Program, only one of two in the state of Texas, offers asthma screenings and evaluations at no charge to participants. along with those screenings, the Christus St. Michael Mobile Asthma Program provides services such as breathing tests, personal asthma management plans, parent and child education as well as follow-up care.
