WARNING: This Valentine's Day story could produce copious amount of tears.

My Facebook friend, Doris, shared this story today. Maybe it's the time of the year or maybe it's because I share a love like this, but this story had me bawling like a big baby. That's not good for someone that has to open the mic in three minutes and talk without a stopped up nose! :)

This story touched my heart so much because it is something my husband would do for me...and sorta already did. As many of you know, my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October of 2010. He had surgery to remove the tumor in March of 2011 and is, thankfully,  doing much better now. When I got the Christmas tree down that same year (2011), I found a letter from my hubby. He wrote the letter "just in case"- just in case the surgery didn't go as planned and just in case the tumor took his life. It still makes tears well up in my eyes to think about it. He wanted me to know how much I had changed his life and just how deep his love was for me. Sniff. :'( I have a box full of cards and love notes from him and that is where I keep that letter. It takes a lot of guts to open yourself up to another person like that and I'm so thankful that he chose me to love.

I encourage you to make this Valentine's Day less about flowers and chocolates and more about the love you feel for your special someone. Let your guard down and share with them your deepest feelings. At the time, that tumor seemed like the worst thing in the world. Looking back, it forced us to never take a day for granted. Cherish the time you have with your loved ones, it is so very very precious. Ok, enough mushy mushy for today!

Happy Tuesday!
Kendra :)
