Another college baseball season is just around the corner and the Hogs have high hopes leading into the 2012 campaign.

Glancing over the various preseason polls, the Hogs are a solid top 10 team ranking as high as 4th in one poll.

Dave Van Horn returns most of one of the SEC's best pitching staff's from a year ago and that will definitely be the strength of this team. He's going to have to find some offense because two of the Hogs best hitters are gone now that catcher James McCann and outfielder Jarrod McKinney went in the draft a year ago..

The SEC schedule will again be brutal, with 8 SEC teams in the top 35 and 3 in the top 5.

A quick glance at the outlook for our local Razorback players:

Bo Bigham (Arkansas High - Infielder - Sr) enters his senior year for the Hogs as one of the team captains. According to Coach Van Horn, Bo will be playing second base and is projected to hit either leadoff or second in the batting order.

Randall Fant (Texas High - Pitcher - Jr)  is sure to see action this year and could crack the starting rotation.

Greg Milhorn (Arkansas High - Pitcher - Fr) could see quite a bit of action early. Coach Van Horn is really high on him saying "We see him as a conference starter in our program in the future".

The Hogs open up the season with a three game home stand against Villanova the weekend of February 17th.
