Razorbacks’ special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach John L. Smith has reportedly accepted the head coaching position at Weber State.

A press conference is scheduled for today to announce Smith's hiring at the football championship subdivision (formerly division II) school.  Smith, who is from Utah, graduated from Weber State in 1971 and began his first coaching job at the school the same year.

Smith has been a head coach before at Idaho, Utah State, Louisville and Michigan State.

In other Razorback coaching news, IlliniHQ.com is reporting that Paul Petrino, brother to head coach Bobby Petrino and former Razorback offensive coordinator, is leaving Illinois and returning to Arkansas. No official word from Coach Petrino yet, but it's presumed Paul will become offensive coordinator now that Garrick McGee has left to be head coach at UAB.
