Arkansas has it's first and only commitment from Louisiana.

Middle linebacker recruit Otha Peters has switched his commitment from Tennessee to Arkansas. He says his reason for switching is due to Vols coach Derek Dooley being considered "on the hot seat" whereas Coach Petrino's job is secure at Arkansas.

Otha is 6'1" and 221lbs and runs a 4.61 in the 40. He's had offers from Arkansas, Arizona, Arkansas State, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Texas, Pittsburgh, Southern Miss, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Tulane, and Tulsa. He was a Class 5A All-State selection, and the defensive MVP in District 6-5A in LA. He was chosen the outstanding linebacker in the Offense-Defense All-America Game.

This is a huge commitment for Arkansas in my opinion. I've been hoping the Hogs would sign at least a few really good defensive players this year. With this commit and the safety out of New Jersey, the Hogs have a couple of kids who could come in and make an immediate impact on defense, where depth is a huge issue.

Tomorrow is signing day! Hopefully the Hogs will pick up one or two more good ones between now and then.
