If you're out looking for Christmas light displays to help you get into the holiday spirit you have to take the short trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas to visit Garvan Woodland Gardens.

In my continuing quest to find some of the best Christmas light displays near here, Garvan Woodland Garden remains a top destination for some holiday fun. With more than four million lights covering 17 acres nestled between some of the tallest pine trees in the beauty of the Quachita Mountains, you'll be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with the sights and sounds of the holiday season at every turn. Stroll along the four and a half mile wooded shoreline that winds over lighted bridges and boardwalks all while sipping on some complimentary hot chocolate. Make sure you visit the Chipmunk Cafe for some delightful snacks and treats you can enjoy in front of the open fire pit in the gardens.

One of the highlights of "Holiday Lights" is the all-natural wood glass chapel known as Anthony's Chapel, situated in a wooded area on a hill overlooking the gardens. The sheer peacefulness of standing inside the chapel looking out its tall glass windows at the lights below makes you completely understand the true meaning of Christmas.

This Sunday, Dec. 18, at 3PM, The Muses Creative Artistry Project presents its 11th annual “Voices of Angels” sacred Christmas concert in Anthony's Chapel. The concert is the final program of the 2016 subscription series “Four Seasons in Art & Song.” Audiences are invited to this vocally stunning and spiritually uplifting musical experience that will feature choir vocalists from high school and colleges. Choreographer and principal dancer Amy Bramlett will entertain the audience with song and dance.

Tickets, $30 each, are available online at The Muses Project or by calling the Muses Cultural Arts Center at 501-609-9811.

Admission: $15 adults (13 and up), $5 ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and younger. A golf cart tour is available for those unable to walk the trails in the garden.

It's worth the short drive from Texarkana to visit Garvan Woodland Gardens this holiday season and create some memories that will last a lifetime for you and your family.

Also, if you are going to be traveling in the state of Arkansas, more than 60 communities join in the celebration of Arkansas' Trail of Holiday Lights, which begins the week of Thanksgiving and lasts through the New Year. Cities and towns host official lighting ceremonies, parades, pageants, music and more. Visit their Facebook page or go to Arkansas.com.
