Whether we’ve had family or friends serve in the armed forces or not, we all owe a debt of gratitude to the countless Americans who have fought for our freedom since the birth of the nation. So how will you commemorate Veterans Day this year? Here are some ideas to help you plan for this upcoming day of remembrance.

Texarkana residents can head downtown on Saturday, Nov. 10 for the annual Veterans Day Parade which begins at 11 a.m. and takes the customary parade route downtown. If you’d like to find out more about this event, call Gregory Beck at (870) 773-8279.

If a parade isn’t your thing, head over to Little River County for the Veteran’s Day Celebration in Ashdown. The party starts at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 on the Little River Courthouse lawn and will feature special music, veteran recognition and a special tribute to veterans past and present.

This list will continue to grow as we learn about other activities in the Ark-La-Tex. So if you know of something happening in your neck of the woods, send your tips and comments to our Digital Managing Editor, so we can list them here.
