What action would you take if your child said,"Mom, you know what? God just came to me, and He told me that I have to go. It’s time for me to go to heaven”?

Although Ian's mom didn't know the reason her son made that comment, she knew something was wrong. He recently had been falling down and losing his balance while playing.

His doctor suspected flat feet and his parents thought he wasn't paying attention to what he was doing because of excitement. After an MRI showed a brain tumor, surgery was performed so that the tumor could be removed.

Ian was in a coma for 19 days. While he lay unresponsive, Ian's great aunt called his mother to tell her about St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital which is in the US. The conversation that ensued gave Ian's parents hope.

Ian's family flew from Mexico to the United States to receive treatment. Ian was diagnosed with a tumor called medulloblastoma and he has been treated with radiation therapy as well as chemotherapy.

Treatment is now over for Ian. When his blood work comes back normal he will only need to visit St. Jude every three months for a check up. What a wonderful outcome for this family!

All they needed to be concerned with was the treatment of their son not the cost. Ian's treatment was free because thousands of people donate money to keep St. Jude open to help children and their families in need.
