The El Dorado Film Festival is going big in its second year. September 17-19, the South Arkansas Arts Center and El Dorado Festival and Events are joining forces to bring South Arkansas an international film festival with a good dose of southern hospitality. With more than 250 films submitted from 27 countries, this year’s festival is sure to be a powerful cultural experience. “Education is an integral part of our festival, and our workshops will not only cater to community members who wish to know more about the world of film, but also to high school and college students. The return of Emmy Award winner Chuck Mere and the Zombie Go Boom crew is sure to be even bigger and gorier than last year,” said Laura Barrow, Executive Director.

We are excited to announce that David Gale will be our special guest. Gale was a producer for MTV films when they did notable works such as Election, The Longest Yard, and Jackass: the Movie.

"David Gale is a highly respected producer and executive whose creativity and business acumen, forged over 30 years, has made him an entertainment industry leader. While at the helm of various top production companies, including 18 years running divisions at MTV Networks, Gale is recognized for launching the careers of some of Hollywood’s best-known talent, consistently producing profitable entertainment, and being an innovator where technology and media intersect. Under Gale’s leadership, MTV Films opened seven movies at No. 1 at the box office and earned dozens of awards and nominations, including Oscars, Independent Spirit Awards, and Golden Globes," said Barrow.

The Second Annual El Dorado Film Festival committee will host an announcement party on July 31 at 6 p.m. for the 2015 film selections in the ballet room located in the South Arkansas Arts Center. A selection of trailers from the films will be shown following the announcement.
