In a world of movie remakes and sequels now there is talk that Tom Cruise could climb back into the cockpit for a potential “Top Gun” sequel.

‘We’re working on it,” Cruise told MTV News when asked about a potential ‘Top Gun’ sequel. “I hope we can figure this out to do it again.”

According to Cruise, he’s been discussing plots with Tony Scott, who directed the 1986 film.

Sequel or no sequel, ‘Top Gun’ fans will soon get a chance to see Maverick, Joker, Iceman and rest on the big screen, as the original movie will be getting a 3D re-release sometime in 2012.
