It's the dog days of summer and the kids might be starting to get a little bored with only a few things to do. So, if someone in your family is a huge Harry Potter fan then here is a must for them to do!

Saturday, July 7 - “Sorting Day” from 1PM to 3PM at the Museum of Regional History at 219 N. State Line Avenue. According to the facebook events page, kids will be sorted into one of four groups at the State Line School of Magical Arts. Each group will choose their own house name, colors, and mascot, then design their own house banner to be used during the month's remaining 3 events.

Saturday, July 14 - Spellbooks and Potions from 1PM to 3PM at the Discovery Place at 215 Pine street.  They will be making a potion you can drink and making spell books.

Saturday, July 21 - it's a Wand Making Workshop from 1PM to 3PM at the Ace of Clubs House at 420 Pine Street. The wand is by far the most important part of a wizard’s equipment. According to the Facebook events page, Wizards will choose their own materials to make the ultimately personalized wand.

Saturday, July 28 -  House Awards and Mystery Party from 1PM to 3PM at the  P. J. Ahern Home, 403 Laurel Street in Historic Downtown Texarkana.
The cost is $8 per person for each event. Texarkana Museums System Members (Family membership or higher) are $3 per person. This event is included in the Harry Potter Month package ticket: $25 for all 4 events for non-members. The package ticket for TMS Members (Family membership or higher) is $10 per person.
