Authorities in Northeast Texas are looking for a missing 13 year girl old from Gilmer. The Gilmer Police department has issued a child abduction alert along the Texas Amber Alert network. The teenager is Jasmine Jenkins described as a black female 5'9" 120 pounds brown heari, brown eyes wearing a yellow tank top and blue shorts.

Police are also looking for 27 year old Jonathan Darden, black male 6'0" 180 pounds black hair, brown eyes wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts, black Nike shoes. He has a scar on his right knee and on his abdomen.

The suspect was driving a red 1999 Honda Accord with a Texas license plat number of 099xks. The suspect was last heard from in Gilmer, Texas. Law enforcement officials believe this chld to be in grave or immediate danger. If you have any information call the Gilmer Texas Police Department at (903) 843-5545.

The Texas DPS has investigated a fatal traffic accident which occured in Bowie County. The accident happend on Interstate 30 near the mile marker 192.  Authorities say a pick up truck and a tractor trailor were both headed eastbound on the interstate when the big rig struck the pick-up causing the vehicle to side skid into the center and median and roll onto the passenger side.

Troopers say 69 year old Christine Talent a passenger in the pick-up was transported to Christus St. Michael and later pronounced dead.

The Labor Department says the unemployment rate actually dropped in July. The rate fell from 9.2% in June to 9.1% in July. Some 117,000 private sector jobs were created. Both numbers were better than economist had expected.

The Wilbur Smith Rotary Club along with the United Way of Texarkana will be “Stuffing The Bus” Saturday, August 6th at Walgreens at the corner of Stateline and Texas Blvd. from 10am-2pm. Donations of school supplies and monies will be accepted to help give needed school supplies to area schools. And thanks to METRO PCS, 200 area children will have new backpacks.
