The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors meets tonight at 7pm at city hall for their regular session. The board will consider an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances regarding private club hours.

The Mayor Wayne Smith has also requested an executive session at tonights meeting as well. The public is invited to the open portion of tonights board meeting.

The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a fatal vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 82 in Bowie County in Northeast Texas yesterday afternoon. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 32 year old Tamra Stone of Hooks Texas was westbound near fm 3419 when it left the roadway and overturned.

Troopers say Stone was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was transported to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana with what authorities described as life threatening head injuries.

Miller County Judge Larry Burgess has issued an outdoor burn ban due to excessively dry conditions in the county. The burn ban will be in effect until we get appreciable rainfall to alleviate the high fire danger.

In Sports:

Denny Hamlin rode into Victory Lane for the first time this year in Nascar. Hamlin took the checkered flag at the Sprint Cup Race at Michigan INternational Speedway. Matt Kenseth was second and Kyle Busch finished third in yesterday's race.
