Jason Aldean continues his support for breast cancer research this year with his annual Concert for the Cure event. In October, the country star will host his annual night of awareness during an already-planned They Don’t Know Tour stop in Louisville, Ky.

Aldean — along with Chris Young, Kane Brown and Dee Jay Silver — will raise awareness for Susan G. Komen during the Oct. 20 tour stop in Kentucky. The superstar will also donate a portion from all ticket sales throughout the year to Komen Kentucky.

“As long as I have the chance, I will do my part and raise awareness for this cause,” Aldean says. “My fans keep fighting the battle with this terrible disease along with us, and our dream is that nobody has to fight the disease anymore.”

The singer launched his annual support for breast cancer research in 2004 after losing a friend to breast cancer. Over the past 13 years he has raised more than $3 million during his annual concerts for Susan G. Komen.

“My best friend lost his wife to breast cancer and she was in her very early thirties,” Aldean explains. “I was there. I watched it all go down. I watched him deal with that and her go through it and her leaving behind two daughters. That to me was sort of an eye-opener.”

Last year, Aldean was named a More Than Pink hero by Susan G. Komen for his support and countless donations over the years as well as his thoughtfulness to give breast cancer survivors special recognition at his shows.
