A Florida man has been arrested for pretending to be country superstar Jason Aldean and defrauding a mentally handicapped woman, exploiting her for money. According to WFLA, Daniel Farris posed as Aldean on Facebook and convinced the woman he was the country singer, asking the victim to pay him $2000. He received $230 from her on two occasions.

Police say Farris acted as a friend of Aldean's when collecting the money, allegedly telling the woman that Aldean loved her, but was busy on tour and that his friend needed the money. An affidavit also reveals the Pinellas County man convinced the victim to have sex with him and that he admits to having committed the crime to pay for his prescription pill addiction.

The real Jason Aldean has been busy playing CMA Fest and the CMT Awards earlier this month, as well as continuing his Six String Circus Tour with Thomas Rhett and A Thousand Horses. As part of the tour, he’s playing one particularly impressive date at Fenway Park with WE Fest headliner Kid Rock.

“I’m looking forward to Kid Rock meeting up with us in Boston, we’ve played each other’s shows and been friends for awhile, so actually getting to do a full night together somewhere as iconic as Fenway Park is going to be a huge. The guys and I are ready to get back out there for the summer in the amphitheaters. That’s always a party waiting to happen with us!” he said of the tour before its launch.

Aldean was also recently tapped as a headliner for the 2017 Taste of Country Music Festival.
