Dusty Rose Band lead singer Jason Springer visited the Kicker studio Thursday to speak with Mario and to unveil a song he wrote in honor of KKYR's St. Jude radiothon.

"The song is called "For the Children,'" Singer said. "Mario prompted me to write it. He put it on my heart because he knows how important kids are to me. So I got online and visited the St. Jude website and then I prayed about it."

Springer teared up a bit singing the song live in the studio and he acknowledged that the song was difficult to perform. A father of three kids and soon to be a grandfather of four, Springer said children are very important to him.

"I get choked up about it. It becomes a reality for me since I have kids."
