Jay DeMarcus is diving into a new project, but this one doesn't involve any musical instruments. The Rascal Flatts member is producing the upcoming film All Shook Up.

DeMarcus, producer Travis Cloyd and writer Gregg Russell are set to begin work on All Shook Up later this year; Guy Griffithe of Bridgegate Pictures will executive produce the coming-of-age adventure film.

"I love the movie-making business. I always enjoy the process, and I learn more and more every time I do a new project; it's another fun, creative outlet," DeMarcus says in a press release. "This story pulled me in immediately: The timing was right, and things fell into place quickly. I am honored to be a part of this very special project!"

All Shook Up follows two young boys as they search for a thermonuclear bomb buried in the marsh off the Georgia coast. The movie is based on an actual event, which occurred in 1958 during the height of the Russian Cold War: A scrambled Air Force jet fighter collided with an American B-47 bomber, resulting in a 7,600-pound bomb being dropped off the coast of Savannah, Ga.

DeMarcus is a busy man these days: He recently produced Back to UsRascal Flatts' newest album. Plus, the country trio is looking forward to a series of shows at the Venetian hotel and casino in Las Vegas; those are scheduled for October and billed as Rascal Flatts — A Night to Shine.
