The summer concert series continues at Magic Springs in Hot Springs, Ark., this Saturday, June 6 with Joe Nichols.  Anytime Joe comes to Arkansas it's like a homecoming since he's from Rogers, a town located in Northwest Arkansas. The 38-year-old singer/songwriter burst onto the country music scene with hits like "What's a Guy Gotta Do," "Brokenheartsville," Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," "Gimme That Girl," to name a few. Most recently, his newest album "Hard To Be Cool" has spawned smash hits such as "Sunny And 75" and  "Yeah."

Nichols, who is part Native American (Cherokee), has had a variety of jobs while working on his musical career including moving furniture, a door to door steak salesman, a cable installer and at one time, even worked as a country music disc jockey. But it is love for country music that keeps him going.

In fact, Nichols is already working on some new music and according to Taste of Country Nichols says, "It’s important that we keep an element of traditional country alive.” In an interview with the Phoenix Sun Nichols added, he wants other fellow artists to get back to the heart of country music through great storytelling and meaningful stories about the common man and woman that represents the backbone of country music.
