This month, "Teacher Take Wing," a project of the Junior League of Texarkana, was awarded 27 grants, totaling $12,000 to area educators in seven school districts.

“The grant funds educational projects, up to $500 each, for educators who have innovate ideas for instruction which help students meet their academic goals,” said Melissa Estes, chairman of the Teacher Take Wing committee.

The event is sponsored by Junior League of Texarkana and is made possible by the many individuals, businesses and partners that donate to the Junior League throughout the year. This event is funded by the community's support of fundraisers, Mistletoe Fair and Touch-a-Truck.
