Osama bin Laden the mastermind behind the 911 attacks is DEAD. I echo the same sentiments that Americans today are feeling. As country singer Alan Jackson's song "Where Were You" ( when the world stop turning) I still remember where I was and the sick feeling I had the entire day. It made you go home and give a little extra hug to your loved ones.

Many Americans were already asleep on Sunday night when President Barack Obama addressed the nation to say that U.S. military operatives killed Osama bin Laden in a mansion in Pakistan's Abbottabad Cantonment earlier in the day.

"Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men," the president said in the East Room at close to midnight Eastern time.

The Chief Executive – who briefed former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton before he spoke to the public – termed bin Laden's death "the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat al Qaeda

No, Osama bin Laden's death cannot bring back all those innocent lives that were lost on that fateful day or bring back any of our American soldiers that we've lost over the years fighting this war on terror. I just hope and pray that the families of the 911 attacks can get some sort of peace and comfort knowing that the evil man behind the loss in their lives is forever gone from this world, that keeps on turning.

As Americans we will prevail, and today is a great day to be an American...God Bless The USA!
