Kelsea Ballerini performed her single "Legends" on Sunday (Nov. 26) at the 2017 Nickelodeon HALO Awards.

The song — "We were legends and we wrote our own story" — was a perfect fit for the HALO (Helping and Leading Others) Awards, which acknowledges ordinary teens who do extraordinary things. This year's four recipients ranged from ages 11-15 and have made impacts in their communities by taking on responsibilities such as leading natural disaster relief and fighting homelessness.

Nick Cannon is the creator, host and executive producer of the awards show and was even caught on camera singing to Ballerini's "Legends" during the performance.

“The incredible work and inspirational stories of the Nickelodeon HALO Awards honorees never cease to amaze me, and continue to show the world that every action counts — no matter how big or small,” says Cannon in a statement.

At the event, Ballerini delivered perhaps her best performance of the song to date, complete with soaring vocals, backup dancers, full band (and backing track), light show and crowd interaction.

Ballerini also performed "Legends" with country music legend Reba McEntire at the 51st annual CMA Awards in November. Prior to the performance, Ballerini told Taste of Country that singing with McEntire "is gonna make that song have a different meaning because she is literally the definition of a legend." She then added, "And I’m gonna have an out-of-body experience and try not to pass out.”

Ballerini returns to the tour circuit in early 2018, with her first show taking place on Feb. 8 in Birmingham, Ala.
