Kenny Rogers is taking doctor's orders seriously. The superstar singer has canceled the remainder of his 2018 Gambler's Last Deal Tour due to a "a series of health challenges," Fox Carolina reports.

Rogers first called off an appearance at the Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in North Carolina, originally scheduled for May 26. No specific details have been shared about what kind of health ailments Rogers is facing, but doctors reportedly thought he would heal at a quicker rate if he wasn't on the road.

"I didn't want to take forever to retire. I've thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to say farewell to the fans over the course of the past two years on the Gambler's Last Deal Tour," the legendary Rogers says in a statement. "I could never properly thank them for the encouragement and support they've given me throughout my career and the happiness I've experienced as a result of that."

In addition to Cherokee, N.C., Rogers also had tour stops scheduled through August in California and the U.K., as well as across the east coast of the U.S. Refunds for the show at Harrah's will be granted. "The Gambler" singer went out on a high note in 2017, announcing his retirement with a star-studded farewell concert in Nashville that included appearances by Reba McEntireLionel Richie, Idina Menzel and many other stars. The evening wrapped with Rogers and Dolly Parton performing their iconic duet "Islands in the Stream" together for the last time.

"The Gambler" was recently added to the National Recording Registry.
