The controversy over the singing of "God Bless the USA" at a Coney Island School continues.  A video has surfaced showing kids singing the patriotic anthem while angry parents protest.

U.S. Rep. Bob Turner, R-N.Y gathered a group of students in front of the school to sing the song. As they were singing parents were heckling the organizers of the event, telling them they were going to "burn in hell". After the kids finished singing several of the parents explain why they're so upset.

Here's the video...

After watching this, I take issue with both parties involved here.

First, Representative Turner should be ashamed of himself for putting these kids in the middle and using them as political pawns. It's obvious he's trying to score brownie points with his base. Shame on you.

Next, to the parents, whatever point you might have been trying to make was lost when you started trash talking kids and shouting over them while they sang the song. One is heard arguing with one of the children toward the end of the clip. Grow up people.
