It was indeed a playoff pep rally feel at the Rader Dome at Liberty-Eylau High School today.

As the Leopards were getting ready to embark on what will be a long playoff run, Townsquare Media, specifically KKYR Radio, was invited to attend the team's first playoff pep rally.

We were there to present the team with the Kicker Cup City Championship trophy. The traveling trophy is awarded each year to the Texarkana high school football team that finishes the regular season with the best over all record.

The Leopards won this year with a 9-1 record. Defending champion Texas High Tigers finished second with an 8-2 record. The Leopards were excited to receive the trophy but realize they have a long way to go to reach their ultimate goal, which would be a state championship for the school.

The Leopards will keep the Kicker Cup Trophy until next fall when once again Kicker will proclaim a new city champion for high school football in Texarkana.

Kicker 102.5 would like to thank Rogers Trophy and the Kicker Cup sponsor Red River Credit Union for helping us out over the last 20 years of presenting the traveling trophy.

Congratulations, Leopards, and good luck in the playoffs.
