Local Residents Ask For Help With Louisiana Flood Relief Efforts
Portions of Louisiana are still recovering with the recent floods that devastated the area. Texarkana Tire & Lube at 1519 Arkansas Blvd. is encouraging everyone to pitch in and help with the Louisiana flood relief efforts.
General Manager James Zumwalt, along with friends Shane Powell and Jeremy Tussey, said they all felt compelled to do something to help the victims in Louisiana in the towns of Hammond, Denham Springs, Livingston and Amite, all hit hard by the recent floods.
"In addition to filling up a trailer full of goods we are going to donate $5 from every oil change we do now until Saturday to help with flood relief," said, Zumwalt. "Some of these guys have family in that area and can't stand seeing the pictures and video coming out of there."
So Zumwalt is asking Texarkana residents to bring numerous items to his shop at 8AM this Saturday, August 27. They will take donations until the trailer is completely full and ready to deliver to the flood-stricken area.
