An annual event to help children is coming up later this week in Texarkana, Texas.

The Texarkana College Cosmetology Department will host its 5th annual Cut-a-Thon to raise awareness and money for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 1401 Richmond Road in Texarkana, Texas. All proceeds from hair, skin and nail sales will be donated to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

And on Saturday, April 25, the Texarkana Cosmetology Department will host its 2nd annual Cares for Kids Silent Auction from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. on the Texarkana College Main Campus in the Truman Arnold Center located at 2500 North Robison Road.

Area businesses have donated more than 100 items to be auctioned. There will be $6 BBQ plates, live music and guest speaker Leah Miller, Supervisor for Juvenile Probation with Bowie County, will lead a discussion on Human Trafficking in our area.

Items up for bid include a picnic table, canister vacuum, jewelry, BBQ grill, home décor, clothing, purses, gift cards, hand made items, leather bar, ice cooler, custom fire pit and much more. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
