It's summertime and that must mean Mash Bash Blood Drive time in Texarkana.

LifeShare is hosting the 27th Annual MASH BASH July 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 8p.m. at LifeShare Blood Centers, 1321 College Dr, Texarkana, TX. All donors will receive a limited edition MASH BASH t-shirt and complimentary hot dogs and hamburgers.
“Our annual MASH BASH Blood Drive helps ensure the stability of the local blood supply during the summer. A time when we often see the blood supply drop to a critical level. The volunteer donors that give during MASH BASH help to make sure our community has a stable blood supply through this season,” says Karen Siefert, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Centers.
Each year 4.5 million Americans need blood to save their life or improve their health. The blood used for these medical needs can only come from volunteer blood donors. Donors must be at least 16 years old to give blood and there is no maximum age limit. Donors should bring a list of medications, eat a good meal and be well hydrated prior to donating. The goal can only be accomplished by asking the community to roll up their sleeves and give blood.
About 1 in 7 people entering a hospital need blood. One blood donation, approximately one pint of blood, can save up to three lives. Every donation has the potential to save someone’s life.
