When those Friday night lights go bright and the Arkansas High School Razorbacks take the field, one of the youngest play-by-play announcers in the country is behind the mic on Eagle 106.3 and KYGL.com.

Meet David Singleton.  David is 10 years old and attends Pleasant Grove Intermediate School where his favorite subjects are reading, writing, and social studies. Like most fifth grade boys, P.E. and recess are his favorite times of the day.  David is also a member of the Cub Scouts and enjoys camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

David loves most all sports.  He is a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.  His favorite High School teams are the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Pleasant Grove Hawks.

It all started with David going to the games with his dad J.W., who has called the Arkansas High games for many years.  This season J.W. found himself a man short with his broadcast team and David helped out.  As the program director for the station, I asked J.W. if David could stay on the team every week because the kid is a natural talent and really good.  I have done some research, Google and what not, and from what I can find, David is the youngest high school sports play-by-play announcer on the radio today.

Tune in to hear David, J.W., Andrew, and the rest of the Eagle broadcast team for Arkansas High Football every Friday night on Eagle 106-3, or here online at KYGL.com.
