Memorial Day Events Planned in Texarkana

Annual Memorial Day Observances are planned in Texarkana on Monday.The ceremonies begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Miller County Courthouse. Then there will be a walk to the Korean/Vietnam Memorial at 7th and State Line Avenue. The event concludes with a special ceremony at the Hillcrest Memorial Park on Highway 67 West in Wake Villege at 1 p.m.

There will be an Avenue of American Flags on the drive in to the park and over 1200 U.S. Flags will mark the graves of Veterans. There will be a guest speaker, patriotic music, honoring of veterans, honoring of POW/MIA's. Also a 21 gun salute and balloon release and refreshments.
