Texas girl Miranda Lambert packed the house for her performance at the 2016 Houston Rodeo on Monday night (March 7). Playing in her home state seemed to make the country superstar at ease -- especially since there were some familiar faces in the audience.

"My mom and dad are here tonight," Lambert told the crowd before playing "Sweet By and By," her contribution to the upcoming Southern Family album. "I wrote this song about growing up here."

Lambert's Houston Rodeo appearance was her first major show of the new year, and she admitted that being up on the rodeo's rotating stage "feels like home." Dressed in a simple blue dress, a large feather necklace and cowboy boots, the singer earned thunderous applause from the audience throughout her set, which included "Baggage Claim," "All Kinds of Kinds" and many more of her most famous songs.

When it was time to play "The House That Built Me," Lambert was met with thousands of cellphone lights. From there, she rolled into a powerful performance of "Automatic," followed by "White Liar," which she played as white flames flickered across the video screens and pure white lights beamed around the stadium.

Lambert chose "Gunpowder and Lead" to close out the show.

The singer's performance ended with some unexpected excitement, as a fan jumped a fence and rushed toward the stage. He was restrained before reaching Lambert, but according to KHOU-TV, was arrested for criminal trespassing.

"We make announcements that no spectators are allowed in the arena except for chute seat holders during the concert," the rodeo says in a statement.

The 2016 Houston Rodeo, which runs throughout March, offers a star-studded concert lineup, including Keith UrbanBrad Paisley and more. Luke Bryan will take the stage on Thursday night (March 10).
