Momma Bird Nesting in a Hanging Plant [PHOTOS]
Saturday I was sitting on my patio and noticed a sweet little bird going back and forth to one of my hanging baskets. Then I realized she was making a nest!
At first, I thought "Oh, this isn't good! I've got to water this plant!". My husband thought the same thing and thought I should discourage the bird from nesting there, but it was too late. And frankly, I just didn't have the heart!
I was trying to figure out what type of bird she was so I looked up pictures on the internet. She's got these great stripes on her head so she reminds me of a chipmunk! I think she is a Carolina Wren.
She was still working hard on her nest all Sunday. It's not an open nest, it's more like a big ball. I looked on line and found out the best way to water my plant will be VERY CAREFULLY! I plan on using a small watering can and water on the other side of the pot from the nest.
I'm so excited and honored that this sweet little bird chose my backyard! I'm ready for some baby birds!!!
