The Claybourne-Jaymes-Conrad house gets a little fuller during this week's (July 5) episode of Nashville -- and not everyone's completely happy about the situation. When Deacon's father Gideon comes for a visit, the two are forced to confront their less-than-perfect past.

Readers can press play above to get a sneak peek at the 13th episode in Nashville's sixth season, titled "Strong Enough to Bend." As Deacon (Charles Esten) asks his father to let him parent daughter Maddie (Lennon Stella) and stepdaughter Daphne (Maisy Stella), their discussion gets heated. Longtime Nashville fans know that Gideon is a recovering alcoholic who was abusive toward his family, and in the above scene, Deacon confronts his dad about the past.

Maddie and Daphne arrive home before the Claybourne men can come to a resolution (or to blows), and Gideon offers to let his son and granddaughters have a night alone. However, the storyline clearly isn't over just yet.

Nashville airs Thursdays at 9PM ET on CMT. The July 5 episode will also find Scarlett O'Connor (Clare Bowen) trying to help military vet Sean and Daphne finding herself outside of her comfort zone during her time competing on the TV singing competition Nashville's Next Star.

The sixth season of Nashville will be the show's last. After running for four seasons on ABC, the series was canceled in 2016, then picked up by CMT for Season 5 and Season 6.
