"If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!" - Macho Man Randy Savage

Everyday, in the United States, we celebrate a national "something" day. There is a National Pancake Day because we're all fat. There is National Donut Day because...wait explained that. It's absurd. It's time for a holiday that celebrates one of our national treasures -- Randy 'Macho Man' Savage.

Randy Savage was one of the greatest sports entertainers in the wrestling business. Part showman, part Hollywood matinee idol, the 'Macho Man' dazzled fans with his high-flying theatrics and a larger than life persona both in and out of the squared circle.

Here is just a small taste of the 'madness' that was Randy Savage.

Sadly, the 'Macho Man' was called to headline the main event in the big ring in the sky on May 20, 2011 after a tragic car accident near his home in Seminole, Florida.

Love him or hate him, the 'Macho Man' will always be in the hearts and minds of wrestling fans everywhere. It's for that reason fans have started a petition on the official website of the White House to make May 20th 'National Macho Man Randy Savage Day.'

"Macho Man Randy Savage was a national treasure loved by everyone who watched him on television or knew him personally. No matter if you knew him from Slim Jim commercials or his wrestling career, you felt a deep connection with Savage. Tragically, the world lost him on May 20, 2011. This petition is to set aside that day every year as a celebration and remembrance of the Macho Man's life and to keep his legacy alive for future generations to appreciate and enjoy."

OHHHHHHH YEAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Click here to sign the petition.
